Strengthening the Digital Future: Integral Program for Public Schools in Godoy Cruz
Uruguay introduced the Ceibal Plan 15 years ago, which has become a worldwide reference in the application of technology in education to improve learning and encourage school attendance and retention.
This plan, known as the Plan de Conectividad Educativa de Informática Básica para el Aprendizaje en Línea, was initiated in 2007 by President Tabaré Vázquez and has been continued by subsequent governments due to its positive results. Ceibal has been an inspiring model for the Edutec program, which is being implemented in the Municipality of Godoy Cruz Province of Mendoza, with the collaboration of the General Directorate of Schools (DGE).
Currently, the EDUTEC program has been implemented in two stages and has reached almost 500 4th grade students from 10 schools.
This program provides teacher training, technological equipment and pedagogical assistance to strengthen students' digital skills. Through collaboration between the public and private sectors, the aim is to accelerate the implementation of this program so that it reaches 100% of the public schools in Godoy Cruz.
